If Jesus had a Facebook page, would you “Like” some of His posts, or would you also click “Following”? It’s easy to like Jesus for what He can do for our lives. But He calls us to lose our lives and follow Him in all that He says. This Sunday we continue our series, The Politics of Jesus, with the message: “Not Mere Fans, But Followers” based on Matthew 7:13-29.
At the end of worship you are invited to come to the Prayer Room (the door in the Worship Center next to the Kitchen) and receive prayer for whatever need you may be facing. You may also write your prayer requests on the back of Sunday's Connection Card.

Please help support them by bringing specific recycling from home to Lakeshore! In the back area of our parking lot you will notice a large Green “Paper Gator” bin. Please note, this bin does not accept any plastic, metal, glass, cardboard or paperboard (cereal box material). Weekend activities include a champagne reception, delicious dining in the Grand Hotel, and a wide array of speakers, entertainment, and music. Building a solid future for your family is important as well. Why not include the ministry of the Church Extension Fund (CEF) in your investment plan and accomplish both? When you invest a portion of God’s blessings in CEF, you create a personal stewardship ministry, while providing loan opportunities for Michigan District organizations that want to build or expand their facilities. Call the CEF Rate Line for this month’s rates (1-800-232-7313) or for more information, call 1-800-242-3944 or visit www.mi-cef.org. Our office is collecting your empty ink cartridges and recycling them for savings at a local store. Please help us defray the cost office supplies. Bring in your empty cartridges and give them to the person behind the Information Center. (There will be a container under the counter for them to place them in.) Thank you all for this support!! Any questions, please contact our office at 616-846-8556. First Christian Reformed Church of Grand Haven has annually held a Metal & Electronics Recycling Event. Unfortunately, they are unable to hold it this year. But the GOOD NEWS is their Recycling Ministry now operates year round! They offer free Tri-Cities area pick up of your metal & electronic items (no TVs or computer monitors…sorry!). They also have a free drop-off site by the church that is available 24/7. If you have metal or electronics to recycle, please call their church office, 616-842-6370, to schedule a free pick up or get details about dropping off your items. Remember, if it’s metal, has a cord or battery, is unusable or unrecognizable, they can recycle it. Check out http://www.firstchurchgrandhaven.com/ministries-and-programs/recycle-ministry/ for a listing of recyclable items. Thank you for helping take care of our small piece of God’s good earth!
