What's our diagnosis? Our spiritual condition apart from Christ is terminal. Only God's mercy can rescue and heal our lives through the message of the gospel. This Sunday in our new series, The Power of the Good News, we look at Romans 1:18-32 with our message, "We All Need God's Saving Power."

We are so thankful for this body of believers we call Lakeshore Fellowship. To date, we have 88 families that have committed to our IMPACT campaign with a total 3 year commitment of $ 325,178. First Fruits Sunday (May 13th) started our campaign with $ 10,456! All glory and praise to God!

H.O.M.E. would like to thank Lakeshore Fellowship for its support in reaching our goal of achieving non-profit status! Thank you to everyone who has supported us in the past. "Gospel - Recovering the Power that made Christianity Revolutionary" by JD Greear. This book will make a great reference for our summer-long sermon series titled "The Power of the Good News". Books are at the Information Center for $ 15 each.
All who are interested in becoming members of Lakeshore Fellowship are asked to meet for our New Member class on Wednesday, May 23rd from 6:00 - 8:30 pm in the ARK. Pizza dinner will be provided. Upon completion of this class you can be included in our celebration on New Member Sunday, June 3rd at 9:00 am.

Our Governance Ministry Board will be having elections on May 20 at 12:15 pm in the Worship Center for 3 open positions! This group meets monthly and hosts a joint annual GMB/Staff retreat. Representatives serve for 3 year terms starting in June. This Sunday, preschool through 4th Grade will discover the Power of the Good News! Preschool meets in room #4 during both services and K-4th in room #7 during the second service only.
A supervised nursery is located behind the kitchen area and is open during worship for ages birth ~ 36 months.

Ignite Summer Camp ~ REVIVE 2012 ~ July 9-13, 2012 at Camp Mack in Milford, Indiana. $ 50 deposit secures your spot. $ 250 for the week but reduced to $ 225 if 2 or more family members attend. Payment envelopes and registration forms are at the Information Center.
YOUTH CAR WASH ~ Saturday, June 16th from 9:00 am – 12:00 Noon at First Priority in Grand Haven. Please stop by and get your car washed!! All students that work at the car wash will benefit from donations to help defray their cost of going to IGNITE summer camp.

There is an URGENT need for Teen through Adult volunteers ~ to serve in our nursery, preschool and elementary classes at both services (elementary is at 10:45 am service only). As we strive to Joyfully Connect People to the Love of Jesus, our priority to children needs nurturing. This volunteer effort generally involves 1 hour per month with very little to no prep time. Give it a try! You can commit to a monthly schedule or sign up for specific Sundays that fit in your calendar. Please prayerfully consider being a part of this very important (and FUN) team. LCMS World Mission offers a ministry by mail program that is available to all families with military members. Stop by our Information Center on Sunday to pick up a form.
CERT is a faith based disaster relief group that educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills. Trained CERT members can assist others when professional responders are not immediately available. Local training by Fulton Sheen, FEMA certified instructor, will be in Holland, MI May 31 – June 2 at Beechwood Church, 895 Ottawa Beach Road. To register, visit www.isaiah5812.org.
This is First Priority's annual golf outing, benefitting the work of Christian campus clubs in the local middle and high schools around the Tri-Cities area. The event will be held at the Grand Haven Golf Club on Monday, June 18, with registration beginning at 7:00 am; shotgun start at 8:00 am. Entry fee is $ 100, (with clergy free of charge) with a 4-person team. Continental breakfast, lunch and lots of great event prizes are included. …a program where gift cards have been purchased at a discount and sold at face value to you. Lakeshore receives the profits and uses them for the general fund expenses. Our Scrip Program only “works” when members and friends purchase SCRIP gift cards, which are available Sunday mornings at the Information Center between services (10:00 am -10:45 am) and during the week at the church office. Please consider supporting our ministry…even while shopping! Thank you!
Cook - Women's Shelter - Muskegon Rescue Mission, a Christian community, is seeking a Cook for the Women's Shelter. Must have a professional knowledge of cooking ingredients and procedures. Responsible for menu planning, meal prep, operating and maintaining a clean working environment, observing and enforcing strict requirements with regard to food safety, knowledge of food storage, temperature and rotation of product. Must be ServSafe certified. An Associate's Degree of Culinary Arts is preferred. This is a 30 hour a week position, but flexibility in hours will be necessary at times to meet ministry needs. A strong work ethic and a heart for those less fortunate is required in this Christian environment.
Discipleship Program Manager/Assistant Chaplain - Muskegon Rescue Mission, a Christian community, is seeking a Discipleship Program Manager/Assistant Chaplain for our Men's Shelter. Responsible for administering policies and procedures to men in the Discipleship Program, as well as, providing spiritual guidance. Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field of study is preferred. Must be an effective leader and possess excellent written and verbal skills. This is a part-time position, but flexibility in hours will be necessary at times to meet ministry needs. A strong work ethic and a heart for those less fortunate is required in this Christian environment.
