Sunday Sermon

On Valentines Day there were many men buying last minute cards and flowers to say “I love you” to their wives and girlfriends. So how do we show our love for Jesus? And how can our love grow in intensity? This Sunday our message is titled, “Extravagant Love,” based on Luke 7:36-50.

Ash Wednesday & Fish Fry


Ash Wednesday is March 1, 2017. We will be hosting our annual FISH FRY that evening at 5:30-6:30 PM. A free will offering will be taken to support Missions and Kids Against Hunger! Please help us know how many to cook for, by signing up at the Information Center. 

Ash Wednesday Service will begin at 7 PM.

Parking

As a courtesy to our visitors, please keep the closest parking places, near the sidewalk, for our guests. We are now also reserving 2 specific parking places “just for visitors”. They are the first two spots before the Handicap spots, near the sidewalk. Thank you all for your willingness to give our GUESTS the BEST parking! (Hospitality Team members, please remember to bring the Guest Parking signs inside after second service. Thank you!)

Sunday Children's Ministry

Nursery will be provided at both services (9 am & 10:45 am) and Big Adventure Ministry (B.A.M.) for K-4th grade will be during our 10:45 am service. In B.A.M. we will be presenting the Gospel Project. The Gospel Project is a chronological, Christ-centered Bible study for Kids, that examines how all Scripture gives testimony to Jesus Christ. Over the course of three years, they will journey from Genesis to Revelation and discover how God's plan of redemption unfolds throughout Scripture and still today, compelling them to join the mission of God! OneHouse Fray & MOVE ~ The Hangout

OneHouse Fray & MOVE special speakers

Special Announcement...Fray & MOVE will have Guest Speakers on Sunday, February 26th; Bill & Sherri Casey! This will be open to grades 5th -12th. Event begins at 6 pm in the Youth Room.

2.52 (Preschool - 4th Grade) & Fray (Middle School)

2.52 (K – 4th Grade) and Fray (5th – 8th Grade) on Wednesday nights. Optional $ 2 dinner at 5:30-6 pm. Program for 2.52 is; Out in the Wild & Arctic Chill, begins at 6:15 pm. Fray also begins at 6:15 pm.

The Great Escape

We will be going to The Great Escape Room in Grand Rapids on Sunday, March 5th. This is open for 5th-12th grade. Cost will be $ 20 for ticket & transportation. Must sign-up at Information Center no later than Sunday, February 26th. Bring friends!! The more the better! Youth Lock-In

MOVE & Fray students...get ready for a Lock-In at Lakeshore! Pack your sleeping bags; but they might not be used for sleeping in. Join the fun on Friday, April 7th at 7 pm. Food, Fun & Surprises for all!! Parents can pick-up students at 8 am, Saturday, April 8th. Talk with Shannon Johnson for more details.

MOVE (High School Ministry)

Faith Legacy Series


Is a family ministry curriculum that helps parents be effective spiritual nurturers in the home from birth through high school. We are incorporating this ministry here at Lakeshore. Parents, Grandparents and Congregation - We need all of you to make Faith Legacy a success! Facilitators needed for Faith Legacy 7th and 8th Graders and Parents.

Faith Legacy is a DVD based training curriculum to help families grow spiritually in their homes.  Facilitators are needed for our 7th and 8th grade series.  7th Grade – “A Teenage Home Where Everybody Wins (and nobody kills each other)” , 8th Grade “What’s God Been Saying to You Lately?” 

Facilitators show the DVD and facilitate the discussion between teens and their parents and friends. 

It’s a pretty easy commitment, just show the DVD and follow along with the discussion guide.  If you would be willing to facilitate, contact Colleen Dierolf for more information and set up a date.

Crossways Adult Education Class

Men's Prayer Breakfast and Bible Study

GAP ~ God Answers Prayer

Fresh Hope

Kid’s Books Library - Sharing Cart

Check out our book cart in the Atrium! Have a Book? Give a Book! Need a Book? Take a Book! The sharing cart is located in the Atrium near the Children's area. There will be no "formal" check out process. You can simply take a book to read and return it when you are done. If you have books to donate, we welcome them.

We are collecting your donated empty "10 cent RETURNABLE" pop/soda cans/bottles to help support 2.52 and Fray Wednesday night dinners. (Please no glass Perrier water bottles or recycle products.) Empties can be put in the green bin by the entry doors. Thank you to all who have been donating! Supper House

Our church supports Supper House in Muskegon every 2nd Monday of the month. Our next date to serve is Monday, March 13th. We gather at Lakeshore at 3:15 pm, then carpool to the location. This is a great opportunity to try serving in the mission field with your family or your Community Group. Honduras Trip 2017

Scrip

We order cards from thousands of merchants locally and nationally! You pay nothing extra for the cards, but a small profit from the sale of each card stays at Lakeshore. Scrip will be available in the church office on Mondays thru Thursdays from 9 am-2 pm. Reminder: Script purchases can also be made online. Any questions, please call 616-846-8556.

Paper Gator ~ Fundraising Opportunity for Our Children and Youth!

Please help support them by bringing specific recycling from home to Lakeshore! In the back area of our parking lot you will notice a large Green “Paper Gator” bin. We are encouraging you to bring your unwanted newsprint, catalogs, magazines, regular paper, junk mail, telephone books, as well as hard and soft cover books. These items are then re-purposed for cat litter, hydro-seeding mulch, and small animal bedding. Please note, this bin does not accept any plastic, metal, glass, cardboard or paperboard (cereal box material). We will continue to recycle those “other” products in our blue bin located in the kitchen. Tell your friends they are welcome to use it! Thank you for your support of this program!

Life Line Screening here at Lakeshore Fellowship...

Life Line Screening, a leading provider of community-based preventive health screenings will be in our community on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Lakeshore Fellowship Church. Ultrasound screenings to Identify risk factors for Cardiovascular disease include; Carotid Artery (plaque buildup-a leading cause of stroke), Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (an enlargement or weak area in the main blood vessel that carries blood from the heart to the rest of the body), Peripheral Arterial Disease (hardening of the arteries in the legs), a Heart Rhythm Screening (an EKG to detect Atrial Fibrillation-irregular heartbeat) and an Osteoporosis Risk Assessment for men and women. Being proactive about your health by knowing your risks helps you and your doctor address problems early.

Bring in your empty printer/ink cartridges for recycling

Our office is collecting your empty ink cartridges and recycling them for savings at a local store. Please help us defray the cost office supplies. Bring in your empty cartridges and give them to the person behind the Information Center. (There will be a container under the counter for them to place them in.)
