Sunday Sermon

This Sunday, July 31st, will be an Open Question Sunday led by Pastor Chris Boehnke. Please feel free to text your questions to Pastor Chris at 616-843-6128. Questions should be centered on the theme; “The Life and Teachings of Jesus”.

August 7th we welcome guest speaker, Pastor James Stoltenberg. Pastor Stoltenberg will share personal witness about Food For The Poor's mission to care for the destitute as a means of living out the Gospel mandate to love one another. Pastor Stoltenberg has been a pastor for over 41 years. He has a great passion for the poor and has led over 20 Servant Events taking teenagers into the Appalachian Mountains. These trips taught many things including that we can learn from the poor, Jesus was a servant, and how we can be servants too. Many who participated in these trips are now using their careers to help the impoverished. Please join us as we welcome Pastor Stoltenberg on Sunday, August 7th.

Kid’s Books Library - Sharing Cart

Check out our book cart in the Atrium! Have a Book? Give a Book! Need a Book? Take a Book! The sharing cart is located in the Atrium near the Children's area. There will be no "formal" check out process. You can simply take a book to read and return it when you are done. If you have books to donate, we welcome them.

Paper Gator ~ Fundraising Opportunity for Our Children and Youth!

Please help support them by bringing specific recycling from home to Lakeshore! In the back area of our parking lot you will notice a large Green “Paper Gator” bin. We are encouraging you to bring your unwanted newsprint, catalogs, magazines, regular paper, junk mail, telephone books, as well as hard and soft cover books. These items are then re-purposed for cat litter, hydro-seeding mulch, and small animal bedding. Please note, this bin does not accept any plastic, metal, glass, cardboard or paperboard (cereal box material). We will continue to recycle those “other” products in our blue bin located in the kitchen. Tell your friends they are welcome to use it! Thank you for your support of this program! We received our first check for $ 25!! WAY to GO!!

Need Prayer?

At the end of worship you are invited to come to the Prayer Room (the door in the Worship Center next to the Kitchen) and receive prayer for whatever need you may be facing. You may also write your prayer requests on the back of Sunday's Connection Card.

Michigan’s Church Extension Fund Helps Build a Future

Building a solid future for our Michigan District churches and schools is important. Building a solid future for your family is important as well. Why not include the ministry of the Church Extension Fund (CEF) in your investment plan and accomplish both? When you invest a portion of God’s blessings in CEF, you create a personal stewardship ministry, while providing loan opportunities for Michigan District organizations that want to build or expand their facilities. Call the CEF Rate Line for this month’s rates (1-800-232-7313) or for more information, call 1-800-242-3944 or visit www.mi-cef.org

Love INC

Recycle your metal & electronics all year long!

First Christian Reformed Church of Grand Haven has annually held a Metal & Electronics Recycling Event. Unfortunately, they are unable to hold it this year. But the GOOD NEWS is their Recycling Ministry now operates year round! They offer free Tri-Cities area pick up of your metal & electronic items (no TVs or computer monitors…sorry!). They also have a free drop-off site by the church that is available 24/7. If you have metal or electronics to recycle, please call their church office, 616-842-6370, to schedule a free pick up or get details about dropping off your items. Remember, if it’s metal, has a cord or battery, is unusable or unrecognizable, they can recycle it. Check out http://www.firstchurchgrandhaven.com/ministries-and-programs/recycle-ministry/ for a listing of recyclable items. Thank you for helping take care of our small piece of God’s good earth!
