Attention Singers!

Adults and youth 5th grade and older who can "carry a tune" are invited to sing in the Christmas Choir on Sunday, December 21st and Christmas Eve. Pictorial Directory Time!!!

Family of Lakeshore PLEASE begin signing up for your photo session ASAP. Prescheduling is currently available online. Click on the link here and create your own log-in and password, then set up your desired photo session. If you would rather have someone else enter your information, please contact Jayne in the church office at 616-846-8556. Manual sign-ups will be available at the Information Center beginning Sunday, October 12th between services. Dates of photography will be Friday, November 21st; Saturday, November 22nd; Friday, November 28th; and Saturday, November 29th. Appointment times are available on first come, first serve basis. We need you to complete our book! Anyone who considers themselves a regular attender or member is encouraged to be included! Save the Date for Oktoberfest!

Saturday, October 25th 5-7pm. This is a free and fun community event for the whole family. We’ll have food, games, pony rides, hayrides and much more. There will be live music by the Sherri Casey Band! To put on this kind of event, we need a lot volunteers. Please sign up on your Connection Card or at the Information Center if you can help.

Lutheran Heritage and Romantic Germany

Pastor Chris and Tracy Boehnke and Pastor Dieter and Ruth Haupt will be hosting a 13-day trip to Germany from September 25 to October 7, 2015. This will be an opportunity not only to see beautiful sights in Germany, but also to tour the places that were significant for the Lutheran Reformation as we celebrate its 500th Anniversary. Information brochures about the trip are available at the Information Center. Informational meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 4th at 7pm at St. John's Lutheran Church in Grand Haven.

Sunday Nursery

During our 9am worship service, we allow parents to use our unsupervised nursery. The room has speakers that allow you to hear all that is going on in the Worship Center. The nursery also has a private room designed for nursing mothers. During our 10:45am worship service, our nursery provides a safe, supervised, and loving environment for children, so that parents can feel comfortable as they attend worship. It is located in the ARK and is open during our 10:45am worship service for ages birth-18months. Additionally, children 18-36 months are welcome to join together in our Toddler Room. 

BAM (Big Adventure Ministry)

Meets Sunday mornings at 10:45am in the ARK! Kids learn a Bible story, create a craft, sing songs, have a snack, and play games all while learning God's Word!!

Parents: Please pick your children up immediately after the service so that your child's teacher can have time to fellowship too.

Allergies or Special Needs

Parents we want to keep all our children safe. If your child has food allergies or special needs, please let us know so that we can make name tags with an alert on them and let your child’s teacher know. 

No 2.52 This Week

2.52 Looking Ahead . . .

we want to bring some joy to foster children by providing Birthday’s in a Box in December. We will need a lot of shoe boxes ~ please save yours for us! 

Fray Halloween Party

This Wednesday, October 29th, Fray (5th-8th grades) will host a Halloween Party from 6:15-7:45pm. We'll have pizza and other yummy snacks; games, activities and a costume contest (nothing scary or demonic). Bring your friends!!!!

OneHouse "The Hangout"

Hey OneHouse Fray and MOVE (5th-12th grades)! can "Hangout" together between the two worship services on Sunday mornings. Enjoy a snack, play some games, have a beverage and spend time with friends.

MOVE - High School Ministry 9th-12th Graders

Now meets every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month in the Youth Room from 6-7:30pm! Our first gathering will be this Sunday, October 26th with the video "Why am I a Christian?" If you have ever been asked why you are a Christian, this video and discussion will greatly benefit you and help build your foundational response to those you are in contact with. Hope you can come!

Crossways Adult Bible Study

Ever wish you had a better grasp of each book of the Bible and how its message relates to that of all the others? Crossways is a faith-enriching, life-changing course that serves as your "road map" for an unforgettable journey through the entire Bible. This two-year class will cover the Old Testament the first year (three 10-week sessions) and then the New Testament in the second year (three 10-week sessions). Each 10-week session is $20 for the materials. We will continue meeting in the Worship Center on Mondays, 7-8:30 pm. It's not too late to join in!

The Community Bible Experience

Read big. Read real. Read together. This is a 40-day reading plan for Community Groups to read through the whole New Testament and discuss it together in a way that gets the big picture using a specially formatted New Testament called "The Books of the Bible." Community Groups will begin this journey in September. Women's Ministry Bible Study - Fall Session - Where Does Your Help Come From?

Ladies of Lakeshore we are offering a Monday Morning Bible Study at 10am the first and third Mondays of each month. This group will continue meeting the first and third Mondays each month (November Mondays are the 3rd and 17th). Men's Ministry

Do you have a desire to see the kids of Lakeshore Fellowship grow closer to Jesus? Does it excite you to experience kids praying for and witnessing to their friends and family? You can make a difference in the lives of our kids and families. Whether you serve once a month on a Sunday morning or weekly at 2.52 or Fray. Our kids and parents need you!!! Stop by the Information Center in the Atrium or the Children’s Ministry Desk in the ARK to find the perfect fit for you. Or talk to Colleen 616-846-8556. Serving like Jesus on the outside, can make you feel like Jesus on the inside – who wouldn’t want that?!

Altar Guild

Could use another helper or two and is a GREAT way to serve here at Lakeshore. Generally you would serve one month a year setting up communion for 2 Sundays. If this sounds like a way you can serve, please attend the upcoming meeting on Wednesday, November 5th at 6pm in the Green Room. If you are interested but unable to attend, please call Marlene at 231-755-2194.

Opportunities to Serve in Children’s/Youth Ministries


  • Return your empty pop bottles to be donated to offset the cost of weekly dinners.
  • Someone to check the bin of bottles and handle returning the bottles for cash.
  • Organize Classroom Supplies by serving a couple hours during the week organizing children’s ministry supplies and setting up for class.
  • BAM Sunday Mornings at 10:45am ~ Registration Desk, Nursery (0–18 mos), Toddlers (18 mos-3 yr olds), Preschool (4–5 yr olds) K–2nd grade class, 3rd & 4th grade class
  • 2.52 Wednesday Evenings ~ Praise God we have a full team in 2.52!!!
  • Fray (Middle School Ministry on Wednesday Nights) need help with check-in and small group leaders. Contact the church office if you can help!

Supper House

Lakeshore Fellowship serves on the 2nd Monday of the month. Supper House provides more than a meal. People hunger for many things: food, attention, respect, dignity, love, opportunities, friendship, and a sense of "belonging". If you would like to be part of this ministry you can sign up at the Information Center or talk to Carl Jessen at 231-578-0998. Our next time to serve is November 10th. Dinner is served from 4-5:30pm. "The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'" Matthew 25:40.

Lakeshore Fellowship participates in the Great Lakes SCRIP non-profit fundraising program. We sell gift cards to dozens of local businesses and have access to order gift cards from thousands of national businesses! You pay nothing extra for the cards, but a small profit from the sale of each card stays at Lakeshore. This is a wonderful and easy fundraising program for non-profit organizations! We have many cards available in $ 5, $ 10 and $ 25 denominations. All make great gifts and support your church family here at Lakeshore! Journey to Bethlehem

Area event that takes place outdoors at Duncan Woods Park in Grand Haven on the evenings of December 11th, 12th and 13th. Ticket sales will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church (Grand Haven) on Saturday, November 15th. Doors open at 8am with sales beginning at 9am. 2014 Lutherans for Life National Conference

Matters of the Heart - the conference begins on Friday, October 24th at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids. If you have not registered you are encouraged to register today so the final number can be given to the caterer, etc! Registrations at the door will be allowed. If you have registered online or by phone, you will want to pick up your registration packet at the church on Friday between 10am and 5pm. Pre-Conference worships being a 1pm on Friday. The opening worship service begins at 5pm. It will be followed by a banquet at 6:15pm and the keynote address by Dr. John Patrick at 7:30pm. The offering from the opening service will be given to the Grand Rapids Pregnancy Resource Center and Cradles of Grace. You are also encouraged to bring items for an in-gathering for the Grand Rapids Pregnancy Resource Center and/or Cradles of Grace. The first Plenary, Why It Matters to Me by Rev. Bob Fleischmann begins at 8:30am on Saturday, October 25th. Workshops take place at 10am, 11:15am and 2pm. Lunch is provided at 12:30pm. The final Plenary, Matters of the Heart: Ways to Speak to the Heart by Dr. James I. Lamb begins at 4pm.

Grace Lutheran Church (Coopersville)

Grace Lutheran is hosting a "Kids Against Hunger" packaging event on Saturday, November 1st from 9-11am at 300 E. Cleveland Street, Coopersville. Their goal is to have at least 100 volunteers (kids and adults) from area churches and the Coopersville community who will package 10,000 meals on that day to feed hungry children locally and around the world. Love INC Has Some Needs

*The Nursing Home Ministry is in need of Bibles. Used are fine and all can be dropped off at the Love INC office at 1106 Fulton in Grand Haven.

*The Nursing Home Ministry needs three groups to visit nursing homes on the afternoon of Sunday, November 30th to provide worship for the residents. This could be a small group, a family, or worship team. Training is offered. Please call Rebecca at 616-846-2701 for more information.

*Volunteers needed for the Great Turkey Drive on Saturday, November 15th from 9:45am-12:15pm and 12:15-3pm. It will be at Panera Bread in Grand Haven. They need greeters, loaders, and face painters. Call 616-846-2701 to join them!
