Sunday, July 17th, “The Unity and Maturity of the Body of Christ.” The body of Christ is spiritually one and united in Christ, but Christ is also at work through the public ministry to unite and mature the parts of the body in their knowledge and understanding of the faith so that the body can grow as each and every part does its job. Scripture passage is from Ephesians 4:1-16.
Sunday, July 10th, “The Mystery of God’s Eternal Plan in Christ” God is using the church, the body of Christ, to declare the mystery of His eternal plan to the whole world, including the spiritual forces in the heavenly realms. Scripture passage is from Ephesians 3:1-21.
Sunday, July 3rd “Made Alive in Christ as One New Humanity.” God saves us by grace as He makes us alive through faith in Christ so that, as one new humanity, we can do the good works that God has prepared for us to do. Scripture passage is from Ephesians 2:1-22.
Sunday, June 26th “Chosen to Receive Every Spiritual Blessing in Christ!” God the Father chooses us in Christ to receive every spiritual blessing – faith, love, grace, forgiveness, holiness, etc. – by the power of the Holy Spirit as He works to reunite all of creation under Christ’s lordship. Scripture passage: Ephesians 1:1-23.
Sunday, June 19th “From the Father through the Son and in the Spirit.” Who God is as the Triune God is revealed in how the Father gives life through the Word of His Son and in the power of the Holy Spirit for creation and re-creation. Scripture passages are from Genesis 1:1-2:4a and Acts 2:14a, 22-36.
Sunday, June 12th “Wind, Fire, and Prophetic Speech” The wind, fire, and prophetic speech that the disciples experienced on the Day of Pentecost are a sign of how the Holy Spirit works in our lives: to breathe the life of God into us; to set our hearts on fire with His love; and to empower us to speak about the saving works of God. Scripture passages are from Numbers 11:24-30 and Acts 2:1-21.
Sunday, June 5th. As we continue our message series, “The New Creation Has Begun”, Sunday’s message is titled “Your Position and Authority in Christ.” When Jesus ascended to heaven, He raised our humanity up to the throne of God, so that in Christ we have a position of authority with Christ in the heavenly realms. Scripture passages are from Ephesians 1:15-23; 2:4-7; Luke 24:44-53 (Acts 1:1-11) and Psalm 47.
Sunday, May 29th. As we continue our message series, “The New Creation Has Begun”, Sunday’s message is titled “Live as New Creation People!” Jesus lives in us by the Holy Spirit so we may begin to love and honor Him as the Lord in our lives and to follow His commands even when difficult times come. Scripture passages are from 1 Peter 3:13-22; John 14:15-21 and Psalm 66.
Sunday, May 22nd. As we continue our message series, “The New Creation Has Begun”, Sunday’s message is titled “The Only Way, the Only Truth, the Only Life.” Jesus came to bring people back to the life of God the Father and the only way people can return to God is by believing in the truth that is in Jesus. Scripture passages are from 1 Peter 2:2-20; John 14:1-14 and Psalm 146.
Sunday, May 15th. As we continue our message series, “The New Creation Has Begun”, Sunday’s message is titled “Follow the Voice of Your Shepherd.” Jesus is alive in the midst of His people and He guides us as we follow His voice through His Word and by His Spirit to eternal life. Scripture passages are from 1 Peter 2:19-25; John 10:1-30 and Psalm 23.
Sunday, May 8th. As we continue our message series, “The New Creation Has Begun”, Sunday’s message is titled “A New Creation Community”. Through His life-giving Word, Jesus forms and shapes His people into a heavenly colony on earth, a new creation community living in a decaying and dying world. Scripture passages are from 1 Peter 1:17-25; Luke 24:13-35 and Psalm 116:1-14.
Sunday, May 1st. As we continue our message series, “The New Creation Has Begun”, Sunday’s message is titled “Fearful and Doubtful...Yet Commissioned!” Jesus comes into the midst of our fears and doubts to give us His peace and to empower us with the new life of the Spirit so we may spread the Good News of His forgiveness. Scripture passages are from 1 Peter 1:3-9 and John 20:19-31.
Easter Sunday, April 24th, “The New Creation Has Begun.” When Jesus bodily came back to life on Easter morning, it was the first day of the new creation that Jesus began. As we are united to our Risen Lord by faith, through baptism, we experience a taste of the life and power of that new creation. We also wait with hope to fully experience the new creation on the day Jesus returns to bring this old creation to an end. Scripture passages are from Exodus 14:10 – 15:1 and Matthew 28:1-10.
Palm Sunday, April 17th, “Descending into Greatness” To live a great life does not mean moving “up” in the world. It means to “descend” into a life of serving others each day wherever God has put us. Our life is all about Christ – receiving Him and expressing Him – because of His crazy love which moved Him to become our King by humbling himself to die on the cross for us. Scripture passages are from Philippians 1:18-26; John 12:12-16 and Mark 15:1-39.
